Grief is a universal human experience.
We typically think of it as related to physical death and bereavement, but it’s much bigger.
Grief can be triggered by a number of life events including
-
deaths,
-
illness,
-
divorce,
-
loss of jobs and homes,
-
traumas due to war,
-
and many more.
It’s becoming more and more evident that grief goes beyond the popular yet outdated Five Stages of Grief, which was published by Elisabeth Kubler-Ross back in 1969.
What will I learn in this webinar?
This webinar will touch on the many ways or “faces” grief wears and how we can recognize and acknowledge how it shows up in our lives. You will learn about and find answers to:
-
“How can this be grief if nobody has died?”
-
Why we might “feel stuck” in the commonly quoted 5 stages of grief, and an alternative way to understand feelings of grief.
-
Exploring how our brain “maps” grief and why we respond the ways we do.
-
How grief shows up in our body, thoughts, emotions, and how it challenges us spiritually
-
“Will I ever get over this?”
